Athlete Academy ATHLETE ACADEMY volleyball

We don't start with a program. We start with a picture.

Most training starts with a template. Ours starts with a measurement — because two fourteen-year-olds can need opposite things.

Most athletes train. Few follow a structured development plan. Moving your family from confusion to clarity is the whole job.

Most of the work is a conversation about what the numbers mean.

How it works

1. Assess

We measure sprinting, jumping, landing, and change of direction. You see the numbers. So does your athlete.

2. Train what the data says

A progressive plan built on your athlete's actual gaps — not the average athlete's.

For most volleyball players that means court speed, progressive strength, and owned landings.

3. Re-measure

Progress is a number, not a feeling. We re-test and show you what changed.

The system behind all of it is the Athlete Academy Standard™ — the same framework that runs our evaluations, programming, and athlete reports.

One idea to keep: if a program can't tell you what it measured before it started, it isn't a program. It's a guess.

Loading is earned. The position comes first, then the weight.

Start with the picture

Evaluation Day is where the picture gets taken. An assessment request is the fastest way to talk specifics for your athlete.

He trained me over thousands of miles, many different weight rooms, quarantines, limited equipment and no equipment, time zones, and a heavy travel schedule. I walked into spring and summer 2021 in the best physical shape possible.

What it has produced

I worked with Aaron all 4 years of high school. In that time, I increased my vertical jump by 12.5 inches (35") and increased my speed on the track.
Jessica GehrkeHigh School All-American, volleyball · state 100m record holder
A lot of kids are doing private lessons and all these things, and I just did not feel like she needed more reps with hitting. Although reps are good, I felt like she needed an edge — doing something different than everybody else. If she could get stronger in her core, stronger overall, and round herself out as an athlete and not just a volleyball player, that would make her a much better volleyball player.

Aaron’s helped give many Iowa Rockets volleyball players the physical advantage necessary to compete at the top level. He takes the time to learn about the athlete and adjust a training program for a specific sport, age, and skill level. Iowa Rockets players from seventh grade through high school seniors have increased their quickness and vertical — which is so critical to the sport of volleyball.

Questions parents ask

Do you replace club training?

No. Club builds volleyball skills; we build the athlete those skills run on. Families keep club and add development work in the right dose around it.

How is the plan personalized?

Every plan starts from measured data — sprint, jump, landing, and strength baselines — and progresses from what your athlete actually shows, re-tested over time.

What does it cost?

Online packages are listed above, from $199 a month, billed monthly and cancellable any time. Training in person at Performance Academy in Apex is priced by schedule, so we work that out with you. Clubs and teams have their own pricing, including bulk rates.
